Who am I?
Are you curious about e-biking? Perhaps you have dabbled a bit and want to spread your e-biking wings by going further or higher? Even if you are an e-bike nut, I think you will find something of interest on my pages. Here is a bit about me!
A Scot in Austria
My name is Lindsey, I’m Scottish, and I live in Austria with my husband, Pete. This whole new world started nearly 15 years ago after my husband suggested it would be something for us to do together in the summer. It has changed my outlook on life, teaching me how to deal with stress and prioritise what is important. The beauty of an e-bike for me is that it enables me to go further, higher or for longer. Being able to talk and cycle simultaneously without needing oxygen is a significant advantage.

We live in Tirol, Austria, and we have so much variety of cycling on our doorstep that we could stay around here and take a different path every day. When we looked at what the rest of Europe has to offer, it became a bigger playground to explore. This completely changed the way we spent our free time forever. What began as a chance to cycle together has turned into something of an obsession.

What makes you smile?
Nothing brings a smile to my face quicker than planning a day trip or a 4-day tour. Once I get on my bike, I immediately start singing ‘On the Road Again’. Made famous by Willie Nelson and murdered by me!
I have been teased ruthlessly by my friends about it being easy or cheating. When this happens, I encourage them to try it and then decide for themselves. No one loves a sideline expert! The more you ride an e-bike, the more you get a feel for the bike and how it works. You will learn how much or little support from the motor you need. This way, you can get a full workout, or if you are not feeling as strong, you get some support but can still thoroughly enjoy your day in the saddle. It makes cycling accessible for all ages, shapes, sizes and fitness levels. I am of the cuddly variety and therefore feel I represent a lot of people in my age group who are perhaps not the fittest but love a bit of sport. I especially love being outside in the fresh air and appreciating the scenery around me. Ebiking means that you can do all this at a pace not found in our modern-day lives.
Ebike explosion
Every year I see more and more e-bikes on the roads, tracks and in towns. Every sports shop I talk to says how the sale or rental of e-bikes has just exploded. I think this is great news for the sport. It has a far wider reach now, and if it gets people outside enjoying nature, then that is a good thing. Just think that every time you get on an e-bike, you are doing more than the person sitting on the couch.
I have been e-biking for a while now and have built the confidence to go further afield. Having travelled thousands of kilometres on my e-bike, I have seen some of the most beautiful places in Europe. All from the angle of an e-bike, which has to be experienced to be believed. It has also given us plenty of time to explore this beautiful country we call home.

Eco-Tourism
The rise of eco-friendly tourism means that e-bikes are part of the future, and I am happy to be a small part of that. I believe 2020 has made everyone far more aware of the environment and the issues we have. The key is what this could mean to us in the future if we don’t act quickly. We can all do our part; it’s just a matter of figuring out what and how it fits into our lives.
My blog and site are all about sharing what I have learned over the past few years and offering hints and tips to help you love e-biking as much as I do.
