Carinthia is Austria’s southernmost province and a real treat for e-bikers – think warm sunshine, sparkling lakes, and a relaxed pace of life. With its gentle terrain, well-developed cycle paths, and Mediterranean feel, it’s perfect for riders who want scenic tours without too much effort.

One of the highlights is the Drau Cycle Path (Drauradweg), which runs right across the province, following the river past quiet villages, vineyards, and forested hills. You’ll also find lovely routes around Carinthia’s many lakes, including Wörthersee, Millstätter See, and Faaker See, all ideal for leisurely rides with plenty of swimming and café stops along the way.

The cycling infrastructure is excellent. There are bike-friendly hotels, numerous charging points, easy bike transport on regional trains, and well-marked paths that make route planning straightforward. Carinthia also has one of the longest cycling seasons in Austria, thanks to its mild climate and extra hours of sunshine.

I’ve explored several areas of Carinthia by e-bike, especially around the lakes and along the Drau, where the combination of scenery and smooth cycling is hard to beat. These routes are now on the site, with tips and photos to help you plan your ride.
If you’re after an e-bike break that combines comfort, nature, and a holiday feel, Carinthia is a brilliant choice.
