Slovenia
Slovenia conjures up all sorts of feelings and emotions for me. I have visited this country often over the past 20 years for work and leisure. Every time I visit, I find something new to wonder at and fall in love with the country all over again. It is called “Mini Europe,” spanning from the Alps in the north to the shores of the Adriatic Sea. With rolling hills, farmland and vineyards in between, you can taste Europe all in one stay.

Slovenia is chicken-shaped.
Despite Slovenia being relatively small and shaped like a chicken (check a map; it will make you smile), there is a great deal packed into this wee country. From the culture, gastronomy, and natural wonders, you will not be bored or underwhelmed wherever you go. Therefore, I advise plotting a course to include all four corners of this country.
The Slovenians are proud of their country and want you to enjoy your holiday. For that reason, I suggest you speak to the Slovenes at every chance and ask them what they love about their country. They have so much to be proud of from their rich history, sporting heroes, amazing sights and sounds, and the beauty of their natural wonders.

Famous Slovenian sons and daughters
With a population of just over 2.1 million, they have produced a surprisingly large number of sporting legends. Currently, their cycling legends, Primož Roglič and Tadej Pogačar, are top professional road cyclists. It is incredible that such a small country can produce multiple Grand Tour winners.
