Salzburgland is a fantastic region for bikers looking for variety, natural beauty, and well-maintained routes. From sparkling lakes and rolling hills to alpine valleys and charming villages, the terrain here offers something for every level of rider, with numerous spots to stop, take in the view, and savour a slice of Apfelstrudel.

The region is well-connected with cycling paths, including parts of the famous Alpe-Adria Trail, the Ennsradweg, and the Tauern Cycle Path, which winds past waterfalls, castles, and the mighty Dachstein and Hohe Tauern ranges. Many of the quieter side roads and forest tracks also make excellent ebike touring options, especially with the motor making the hills a bit easier to navigate.

Cycling Routes

Salzburgland takes cycling seriously, offering bike-friendly accommodations, clear signage, rental options, and a growing number of charging stations. Several ski lifts also operate in the summer, allowing for bike transport, making higher-altitude routes more accessible.

The climate is generally pleasant between May and October. Summer brings warm days and cool nights, perfect for longer rides, while early autumn adds golden colours and fewer crowds.
