Benedict Bike Path
Benedict Bike Path – follows the area called home to Pope Benedict XVI. We did not do this tour because of the links to religion. We did it purely because it is a beautiful part of Bavaria in Germany. Its rolling hills, historic towns, undulating farmland, and impressive rivers attracted us to complete the tour. This circular tour which is easy cycling, has a lot packed into it, so get your cameras ready.
We did this over three days and two overnights, one in Wasserburg and one in Burghausen. There are plenty of sights to enjoy, but those two historic towns are worth spending a bit more time in. They both have cobbled centres and on a warm evening, there are paths by the river to stretch your legs. Burghausen is home to the longest castle complex in the world (that is their claim), which is an interesting place to wander around. I would suggest it is best in Spring and Autumn to enjoy the countryside at its best, either the crops are starting to grow or in full bloom.
