St Michael
St. Michael in Lungau is a beautiful area that is worth taking your time to see. The Mur Bike Path starts in St Michael, so plan 2 days of your trip in this area. The Lungau area is beautiful and worth more than one day on your tour. I suggest staying two nights at the Gasthof Metzgerstub’n in St Martin. This way, you can ebike to the source of the river and explore the area at your leisure and stay in this recently renovated family-run property, with excellent food and views across this area.
The source of the river Mur
The source of the Mur is high up in the mountains. You can make your way to the Sticklerhütte by ebike and then walk from there to the source of the River Mur. I would suggest taking the time for this part of the bike path as you can immerse yourself in the beauty of the mountains with the most fantastic views of the Alps surrounding you.
